Conscious Competence

Helps you zoom in on awareness, capability, confidence and focus. Imagine a small child, 3 or 4 years of age, they just wouldn't know what they don't know yet about how to drive a car well - they have no awareness whatsoever. Fast forward to teenage years, and a 16/ 17 year old begins to be aware of all the things you need to remember and think about when driving a car - MSM, hand position, clutch control/ bite-point, indicating, changing gears.... and then into new driver territory, when a recently passed driver concentrates hard on what they've recently learned (hopefully that's the case !) before becoming a long-established driver and perhaps some casual habits creep in. See how that could apply in the Conscious Competence cycle below. Then, consider your role and where you sit. And others in your business, what level of awareness, capability & confidence do they have. And what's your role as leader/ manager. Question for you - which of the four zones is often touted as the best for growth, and why?
